The Valais Blacknose have been dubbed the Cutest sheep in the world and here at Black Horse Farm we couldn’t agree more. With their distinctive black faces, curly wool, and gentle nature these Swiss beauties have become internet sensations—and for good reason.

Meet Cotton and Casper the newest members of the farm. They are both 100% pure Valais Blacknose sheep and are part of our newest breeding adventure here at Black Horse Farm. They join our older sheep Cricket and Clover.

The Valais Blacknose hail from the Valais region of Switzerland, where they’ve been raised for centuries. They’ve recently gained worldwide fame due to their striking appearance and lovable personalities, and only very recently can you find them in the US. We are drawn to their gentle nature and striking looks. Social media has certainly played a role in their rising popularity—who can resist sharing a picture of a sheep that looks like a stuffed animal come to life?

Cotton follows me everywhere and is very “helpful” with all chores around the farm.
